162976 viewsMy 2 lighter grey chicks together. I suspect these ones are roosters although that is a big guess. They are very different to the others, so may just be a breed thing - but they have a larger comb and there wing feathers have been slower to develop. Also still bum fluff for a tail but tail feathers starting to develop. No fluffy feet on these ones. About 4-6w
Again can you help with breed and sex

Larger Australorp, Much redder comb to my other one and much bigger. Does this mean I might have 1 boy (this one) and 1 girl (the other one)?71 views2234LORELEI

But I originally thought these 2 were both boys - but check out the size difference and also the smaller one has a much smaller, pink comb while the bigger one is much redder. Thoughts on SEX please?

ChookPen.jpg
Chook-run & vegie patch combination 93724 viewsAs I can't strictly free-range my chooks very often (my dog would chase and pounce on them), I have created a large chook run. With the use of removable fences at the front and back of each bay, the chook-run bays alternate as vegie-patch bays. The chooks will clean up and fertilise a vegie bay when I need it to lie fallow. Then I'll fence it off again and plant more vegetables. The bays are 1.8m wide and 2.4m long. The hen house is situated outside the chook run so the eggs are easily accessible.ABIDJANAISE

162775 viewsTHis is the second of my feathered footed chicks! A bit bigger than the last one, but again a well developed tail and small comb. This chick and the other one like it, and the Naked Necks all had well developed wing feathers early. The next lot of photos of the lighter grey chicks were much later to develop wing feathers. Again around 4-6 weeks of age perhaps. Sex? Breed????
